What TIMLAR is
TIMLAR is a safety-session service for people who want the ones they trust to know what is happening when using the phone is impractical, unsafe or unwelcome. It sits between you and your trusted people and tells them when something may be wrong.
It is not an always-on tracker, a surveillance dashboard or an SOS button. You decide when a session starts, who receives it and when it ends.
Why it exists
There are moments when you want someone to know you are fine, or to know if you are not: the late journey home, the solo hike, the difficult appointment. Reaching for your phone is not always possible or safe.
TIMLAR gives your people the context they need without asking you to keep your phone open or to share your location all the time.
The principles
- Core safety is free. The features that matter most are not behind a paywall.
- Sharing is limited to a session. Location is shared only while a session is open.
- Trusted people, not surveillance. Only the people you choose can see your session.
- Failure is visible. Old location, lost connection and a low battery are shown plainly, and when your phone goes quiet your people are told.
- Less during danger. As a session becomes more serious, the screen gets simpler.
- Privacy is a product feature. You can see who can see you, and when sharing ends.
Where we are now
TIMLAR is in active development. Your trusted circle, invitations, live sessions, the page for trusted people and alerts for a silent phone are built. Background location and voice activation still need more testing on real phones before we call them done.
We are building carefully and will update this page as the product matures.
