These terms govern your use of TIMLAR, the safety-session service behind the TIMLAR app and this website. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TIMLAR.
1. What TIMLAR is
TIMLAR connects you with the people you trust and tells them when something may be wrong. It is not an emergency service, it does not replace calling the police or an ambulance, and it cannot guarantee anyone’s safety. TIMLAR does not collect your location outside a session you start.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. You confirm that the people you add know you are adding them and agree to receive messages about your sessions and to see your location while a session is open.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and do not share your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe are used to harm others.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use TIMLAR to:
- track or watch another person without their knowledge and consent;
- send false alerts or misuse the escalation system;
- harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- break any law.
5. Alerts and messages
TIMLAR does its best to alert your people, but it depends on your phone, the mobile network and our providers, so an alert can be late or not arrive. A “lost contact” alert is sent when nothing has been heard from your phone for 10 minutes during a session. A phone can go quiet for reasons that are not an emergency, so false alarms are possible.
Do not rely on TIMLAR as your only safety measure.
6. Links you share
Each person you add receives a private link. Anyone who holds it can see your session while it is open and for 7 days after it ends. You choose who receives links, and you can revoke access at any time in the app.
7. Availability
TIMLAR is provided on a best-efforts basis and may be interrupted. Location accuracy, delivery of messages and connectivity depend on your device and network. The app and the viewer page say plainly when information is old or missing.
8. Intellectual property
The software, content and branding of TIMLAR belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, change or distribute them without written permission.
9. Liability
TIMLAR is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss, injury or damage that results from using it or not being able to use it, including when an alert is not delivered. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes in the app or by email. If you keep using TIMLAR after they apply, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
